Amazing horse and amazing performance - I can't believe people are critiquing this video - pathetic!?! There are ALOT of practices around the world that are inhumane and dressage (or this performance) is? NOT one of them!!

At the keuring in the netherlands he gets the mark 8 on his trot..i think only one or two frisians gets a higher mark...one of them stallions? is his grandchild Uldrike...he gets 9,5!!

I agree, one thing I don't care for about dressage, I like to see? reining, or bridleless. If that rider can do dressage bridleless, then I'd be impressed. that poor friesien...how does he breath?

ummm actually..if you look in the USDF guide to Dressage and basically any other Dressage book....even the french dictionary itself Dressage is the french word for "training" FYI. Not meant to step on anyone's toes and all. But to have the "training" right you have to have a willing and full partnership with? your horse...so we all win!!!

dressage means basically the bond between horse and rider and how the work as a team and all, not training, what a dumbf**k lol, looks to me like this horse and rider are purty talented. nuff said, stop trollin nubs? =).

A lot of you people don't seem to know anything about dressage. FYI dressage is a french term for training, it didn't start out as a discipline. The goal is to have a soft, supple, willing, balanced, fit, correct horse. Its all about horse and rider being in tune. It also encourage a horse to? move and carry itself in the most balanced, comfortable, correct way. You can not get to these levels without a willing horse, these levels are meant to demonstrate a highly fit, willing horse.

Jasper was Champion ...
Jasper was Champion Friesian Stallion two years in a row. He has always been treated with care. I have one of? his sons, and he carries his head like this naturally -- one of the reasons he was a US Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year in 2010.

I think that looks like the way the horse is built.? He has a weird neck to begin with probably. If not, then it's the rider's fault. No more fighting :)

They aren't just doing dressage... they're flying.. like at 3:02 and 2:23. many more examples.. they seem suspended in the air for the second that they stretch out.? beautiful

I'm not very educated on? the ways of dressage. However, you got me thinking that just because one is considered a top athlete doesn't mean they're the 'best.' Example: the USADA performed the most comprehensive survey of Olympic and elite athletes, and 10-20% of them have either used or would consider using drugs to enhance performance. The rider 'knows' what he is doing, but that's just one slice of the cake. Just a thought.

Trust me i know and ride fresians they do not carry their heads like that! That isnt dressage way to collected bad halt and where is the judge also the whole arena isnt fencened it! He dosent need? to chock that much on the reins!

Yes this is absolutely gorgeous! Sorry, but this is not dressage. I have ridden friesians and its NOT natural for them to carry their heads this tight! It really is inhumane for the horse when he is forced to carry his head in such a tight collection! all for beauty and money. WHEN FORCE BEGINS DRESSAGE ENDS! I hope that people soon learn this. and it stops becoming so much about the head set and more about the connection between human and horse and trying to establish comfort for both of them.?
